Calstrip Industries has installed a Hi-Performance 72-inch by 0.250-inch Braner/Loopco Turret Head Slitting Line at its Blytheville, Ark., coil processing center. The new slitting line is designed to process 30-ton critical-surface coated carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless coil in gauges from 0.015 inches through 0.250 inches, with coil mechanical properties ranging up to 133,000 psi.
Slit coils are automatically packaged and wrapped by a Braner/Loopco Automatic Coil Packaging Line. The new equipment is equipped with an array of productivity enhancing and safety features that include a patented no-hands Andiamo automatic coil threading and the latest KEVIN QC+Automation software that generates precise slitter tooling set-ups, eliminates accidental production of incorrect widths/gauges, automatically establishes equipment operating parameters, automatically programs slit coil data into the Pack Line, and automatically generates QC and real time production data, Braner claims.
The new slitter joins four other Braner/Loopco slitters and three CTL lines at Calstrip coil processing facilities in Calif., N.M. and Texas.
