Champagne Metals has installed a new Precision Multi-Cut Blanking Line from Red Bud Industries at its Middlebury, Ind., facility. Champagne is an aluminum processor and distributor.
Featured in the line is a Red Bud Industries servo roll feed and CNC programmable slitter. This combination of machines will give Champagne Metals the capability of producing close tolerance blanks with the quickest changeover in the industry, Red Bud claims.
The CNC slitter can be set up in less than two minutes per cut, thus eliminating costly downtime that can occur when using conventional packed arbor slitters. An additional advantage to the system is the automatic strip divider positioning. While the operator is setting up the slitting head, the strip divider positioning system will automatically set up the dividers in the strip stacker.
The new line is specifically designed and configured to process aluminum. The line has the capability of processing coils up to 30,000 pounds at widths up to 72 inches and thicknesses up to 0.125 inches.
