Farris is New CEO of Brown Strauss Steel

Brown Strauss Steel appointed Kris Farris as CEO, effective Jan. 1. He also joined the company’s board of directors.
Farris previously served as president and COO of Brown Strauss Steel and is taking over from Ryan Secrist who held the CEO role since 2013. Secrist is stepping down from the CEO role due to family reasons but will remain at the company in a senior management role and will also remain on its board of directors.
Farris was the president of the Crest Steel subsidiary of Reliance Inc. prior to joining Brown Strauss Steel in 2018.
Brown Strauss is a leading structural steel service center, carrying wide flange beam, structural tube, structural channel, structural angle and other products. The Aurora, Colo.-based company was the 27th largest service center in North America in the latest
MCN Top 50, with 2023 sales of $723 million.
