Farwest Steel Corp., Eugene, Ore., recently installed a Red Bud Industries 0.187-inch by 60-inch Precision Blanking Line. The line was placed at Farwest’s service center facility in Stockton, Calif.
In addition to being able to produce close tolerance parts, the new system also includes a number of features that will reduce set up time and significantly increase throughput and productivity. A continuous stacker will keep the steel moving by allowing stacks to be discharged and the line to resume production in as little as six seconds. While the line is running, the finished stack is concurrently discharged and the new pallet is placed into position. In addition, a pallet loader loads and automatically positions a new skid in the stacker with the push of a button.
The new line also includes a programmable automatic shear blade gap adjust. Additionally, adjusting the shear angle to improve the squareness of the parts is done in the same fashion with a programmable automatic angle adjust.
The new line consists of a traversing uncoiler, heavy gauge peeler breaker, thread system, servo roll feed, 50-ton shear, drop stacker, stack table, automatic sheet holder and end discharge conveyors.
