FGM Honored as Great Place to Work

Great Place To Work and Fortune magazine have selected Flack Global Metals for the 2023 Fortune Best Workplaces in Manufacturing & Production List. This is Flack Global Metal’s first time being named to the list, coming in at 15th place for small- to medium-sized manufacturing firms.

Flack Global Metals is also Great Place To Work Certified 2023-2024. Earning both recognitions means that Flack Global Metals is one of the best companies to work for in the country, the companies claimed. 

The awards are based entirely on what current FGM team members relate about their experience working at the hybrid organization that combines a domestic flat-rolled metals distributor and supply chain manager. This year, 98 percent of employees at FGM say it is a great place to work compared to 57 percent of employees at a typical U.S.-based company.

Mercedes Signs Supply Deal with SDI

Mercedes-Benz has signed an agreement with Steel Dynamics Inc. to source more than 50,000 metric tons of CO2-reduced steel annually for its plant in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The agreement marks another crucial milestone toward decarbonizing its global steel supply chain, the German automaker said.
