Hudson Tool Steel Corp., Anaheim, Calif., has acquired the assets of Hulick Metals Inc., Rockford, Ill. Hulick has been in the tool steel and specialty steel distribution and processing business for 30 years. The company primarily serves the Upper Midwest.
Hudson will operate its fourth location from the Rockford facility. It will retain the Hulick employees.
“Hulick is a great company that has been a mainstay in the Rockford area. We look forward to adding inventory and equipment to an already well-run operation. The reputations built by Hulick and Hudson along with greatly increased inventories and processing equipment will make the customers the beneficiary of this acquisition,” said Rick Resner, president of Hudson Tool Steel.
The Rockford facility joins stocking and processing locations operated by Hudson in Anaheim, Charlotte, N.C., and Dover, N.H. It also maintains sales offices in Tennessee and Michigan. It is the fastest-growing tool steel supplier in North America, the company claims.
