Aug 3, 2018 Kloeckner Metals' Greenville, S.C., branch has become the fifth in the company to be awarded an IATF 16949 management system certificate for processing flat-rolled steel, stainless and aluminum, including slitting, cut to length, and configured blanks. The other branches include Murfreesboro, Tenn., Calvert, Ala., Cincinnati and Monterrey, Mexico.
IATF 16949:2016 is an international management system automotive "sector-specific" technical specification based on ISO 9001:2015 and several other international automotive requirements.
“As Kloeckner Metals continues to expand in the automotive sector, it is imperative that we continue to maintain our certifications, IATF 16949 being the latest and most comprehensive. Now having five of our facilities certified indicates that we are committed to support and expand our automotive business," said Anthony Munno, Kloeckner's vice president, automotive business development. This new standard increases the involvement of our leadership team while bringing quality and continual improvement to the heart of the organization. Also, it brings together a standard that is synergistic with our sister company, Becker Stahl, operating in Europe.”
