Lapham-Hickey Steel Corp. has acquired Burr Ridge, Ill.-based Arrowhead Steel Company. Founded in 1987 by Arnold Koldenhoven, Arrowhead Steel is a distributor of flat-rolled steel products.
Arrowhead has grown steadily over the course of its 36 years to become a leading distributor of corrosion-inhibiting coated steel. “We are pleased to join an industry-leading, family-owned service center dedicated to excellence and shared visions and values to further serve our customers and expand our business,” said Koldenhoven, who will continue to lead the company.
“Strategically, the acquisition of Arrowhead Steel gives us the opportunity to enter markets in which we have limited exposure today,” said Will Hickey, CCO of Lapham-Hickey Steel. “Their customer footprint aligns with our existing Lapham-Hickey production facilities, which will allow us to strengthen our service and selection. Arnie has built a business with similar core values and principles as Lapham-Hickey and we look forward to growing our partnership with all customers, suppliers and team members.”
Lapham-Hickey is a fourth-generation service center company founded in 1926 in Bedford Park, Ill. It was the 26th largest service center in MCN’s 2022 Top 50, with 2021 revenues of $720 million.
