By on

Lapham-Hickey Steel Corp. has acquired Rebel Steel. Founded in 1981 in Nashville, Tenn., Rebel Steel is a service center specializing in slitting of cold-rolled and coated steels.

“The acquisition of Rebel Steel is an exciting addition to our existing footprint. Having brick and mortar with rail access in the Nashville area will allow us to competitively service the Tennessee and Southeastern marketplace more effectively.” said Will Hickey, CCO of Lapham-Hickey Steel.  “From the time we first met the management team at Rebel Steel, the synergies between their culture and Lapham-Hickey’s were evident. The leadership group at Rebel places a high level of importance on the partnerships they have with their customers, suppliers and existing team members. The team at Rebel will be an excellent addition to the Lapham-Hickey family.”

The company will continue to operate under the Rebel Steel name, with its existing president, Greg Forkum, and operating teams continuing to provide customers the reliable service and quality products they have been accustomed to, executives said.

Lapham-Hickey Steel is a fourth-generation family owned and operated full-line carbon service center headquartered in Bedford Park, Ill. With 11 total locations throughout the Midwest, East Coast and Southeast, Lapham-Hickey is one of North America’s largest service center companies and a leading supplier of slit coil, sheet, plate, bars, tubing and fabricated products.
