Olympic Promotes Pair to VP Slots

Cassandra Powers has been promoted to vice president of human resources, one of two new vice presidential promotions by Olympic Steel, Cleveland. She will succeed Ken F. Sloan, who announced his plan to retire in 2022.
In her new role, Powers will lead the company’s strategic employee acquisition, engagement, development and retention efforts. She will report directly to Olympic Steel CEO Richard Marabito.
Olympic has also promoted Brian C. Harkins to vice president – aluminum. Harkins’ promotion supports the company’s specialty metals strategic growth efforts.
Harkins joined the company in 2019 as director of aluminum with more than 20 years of increasing commercial responsibility in the metals industry.
