Peerless Chooses 4GL's Steel Manager

Peerless Steel, Troy, Mich., will install Steel Manager III at its four locations in Troy, Grandville, Saginaw and Clinton Township, all in Michigan. Steel Manager III is the integrated ERP software for the metals industry designed by 4GL Solutions.

Peerless Steel also implemented Steel Manager III’s integrated Barcoding module, Material Test Report module, Linear Nesting program, Plate Nesting integration module, and 4GL’s Customer Portal module.

"At Peerless Steel, we understood that choosing the proper ERP solution would significantly affect the trajectory of our company in the years ahead.  Therefore, we took this decision very seriously, and completed extensive testing on our finalists from our rigorous selection process.  It became obvious that 4GL – SM3 was the optimum choice for Peerless," said Carl Bartells, president of Peerless Steel.

Bartells said the combination of speed, commitment to the steel service center industry, intuitive structure and the people separated 4GL – SM3 from its peers.

Peerless Steel specializes in the distribution of quality steel and select aluminum since 1946. Peerless Steel stocks an extensive inventory of products including carbon steel, tool steel, alloys, aluminum, cast iron and specialty grades in a wide variety of shapes including plate, sheet, bar, and angle.

Multiple in-house or outside value-added services include annealing, centerless grinding, deburring, flat grinding, heat treating, I.D. boring, machining, production cutting, sawing, specialty cutting, special testing, special tolerance grinding, straightening, stress relieving and 6-sided squaring.
