Samuel Launches New Slitter in Twinsburg

Jul 30, 2019 Samuel Steel Pickling Co. celebrated its 30th anniversary with the opening of a new heavy gauge slitter at its Twinsburg, Ohio, facility. The line is capable of processing material yield strength up to 70,000 psi at 0.375 gauge and 80,000 psi at 0.250 gauge, with a maximum coil weight of 80,000 pounds.
The line features two slitter heads and is capable of slitting half-inch thick material at the full width of 74 inches.
“We are very pleased with the quality of the slit product coming off the line thus far,” said Samuel Steel Pickling Group President Rick Snyder. “We can now deliver an additional value-add service and provide a one-stop-shop facility for our customers.”
The event was attended by 150 current and potential customers, plus joint venture partner Worthington Steel.
