Triple-S Steel Supply Co., Houston, has acquired BMG Metals from Descours and Cabaud. Founded in 1963, BMG is an established distributor serving the Mid-Atlantic region.
BMG Metals operates four locations in Virginia and one in Maryland, supplying carbon steel, stainless, aluminum. It offers plasma cutting and burning services, plus sawing and shearing.
In conjunction with this transaction, Steve Briggeman, a 21-year veteran of Triple-S, has been promoted to regional vice president. A resident of Knoxville, Briggeman will oversee the new BMG business in addition to the Knoxville branch.
"Steel distribution is what we love, and we welcome the opportunity to meet new friends and customers in one of the birthplaces of the United States. BMG provides a great vehicle to bring what we do best to this region,” said Gary Stein, CEO of Triple-S.
"After taking BMG as far as we could over the past nine years of ownership, Dillon Supply and our parent Descours and Cabaud realized BMG needed to be part of a larger steel organization in order to grow to the next level. Triple-S Steel, with its strong leadership, is the company to do just that,” said Dean Wagoner, president of BMG Metals.
