Red Bud Industries has installed a Precision Multi-Blanking Line at Wieland Metal Services, a Parsippany, N.J.-based service center. The line features RBI’s Servo Roll Feed and CNC Programmable Slitter, which gives Wieland the capability to produce close-tolerance blanks with quick changeovers.
The CNC Slitter can be set up in less than two minutes per cut, thus eliminating costly downtime that can occur when using conventional Packed Arbor Slitters, RBI claims. An additional advantage is the Automatic Strip Divider Positioning. While the operator is setting up the slitting head, the system will automatically set up the dividers in the Strip Stacker, which will be ready to run blanks when the slitting head set-up is complete.
The new line is specifically designed to process aluminum. It has a capability of processing coils up to 13,500 pounds, at widths up to 60 inches and thicknesses up to 0.125 inches. The line includes a coil lift, uncoiler, peeler breaker, crop shear, precision leveler and other features.
