Sideloaders Avoid Collisions
Multidirectional sideloaders are essential for maximizing storage in narrow-aisle warehouses, but navigating tight spaces can be tricky. HUBTEX has introduced a solution: the industry’s first sensory aisle-entry assistant, designed to help operators avoid collisions when handling long goods.
This system is available on all PhoeniX models.
In narrow aisles, sideloaders use guide rollers and rails mounted to racks for alignment, with only four inches of clearance. Operators rely on funnel-shaped guides, whose size depends on the load length. Longer loads need larger funnels, which require wider transfer aisles.
The sensory aisle-entry assistant uses a 2D lidar sensor to measure the distance to the entry funnel and align the truck precisely. This ensures collision-free entry, letting operators focus on monitoring the surroundings and adjusting speed.

KASTOpick bar Handles Difficult Products
KASTO has introduced its KASTOpick bar robot solution. This system can pick and deliver flat, square and round materials, as well as round and profile tubes, without the need for human intervention. The solution is available for new systems or for retrofitting existing storage systems.
For many years, manipulators, such as KASTOpick sheet, have been used to separate metal sheets neatly stacked on load carriers. However, handling a bar stock cassette with chaotic storage is considerably more difficult. Dealing with non-oriented objects is challenging because their position and  arrangement are hard to predict. A complex recognition and adjustment process is required to grip and place the bars correctly. KASTO offers a smart solution for efficient separation: KASTOpick bar optimizes the removal of magnetic bright and black steel in new and existing warehouse systems.
This solution allows users to remove and manipulate different bars from storage cassettes without the need for human intervention in three-shift operation, i.e. 24/7.

Hyster’s Trucks Easy to Drive
Hyster’s Electric Big Trucks can power your operations by reducing emissions, improving fuel consumption and helping lower maintenance costs while boosting performance and efficiency for
intensive industries. Their exceptional traction power, acceleration and visibility will make you feel like you’re driving a diesel, the company claimed.
The J230-360XD-J360XD36-48 model is powered by an integrated lithium-ion power battery pack. It has a lifting capacity of 23,000 to 36,000 pounds. The robust design offers operator comfort, excellent visibility and easy service.
It also features an armored glass top window and the industry’s largest entry area, Hyster claimed.

Combilift’s AGT Designed for Wide Loads
Developed by Combilift’s automation team, the Combi-AGT is a 4-wheel electric stand-on model and the world’s first autonomous dual-operational sideloader for long loads. With a lift capacity of 11,000 pounds , it addresses the requirements of steel service centers, which typically handle  long loads. This model is equipped with laser-based sensors to create an anti-collision safety system, as mandated by the American National Standards Institute. When the sensors detect an obstacle in the truck’s path, the machine will automatically slow down and come to a stop in case of an emergency. Once the obstacle is no longer in the sensor’s range, the Combi-AGT will resume driving automatically.
Another feature is its newly developed load dimension detection system, which operates by performing a laser scan of the load to check that its length matches the task sent to the machine. Similarly, when unloading, it checks that the rack in front has sufficient free space to accept the load.

TAB Upgrades Safety Controls
Orbital wrapper manufacturer TAB Industries LLC, Reading, Pa., has introduced an Upgraded Safety Control Package. Available as an option on the company’s TAB Wrapper Tornado Smart Controls orbital wrapping machines, the new Upgraded Safety Control Package adds the company’s automated Safety Scanners, bumper guards and accessories at a discounted price versus the individual add-ons.
The Safety Scanners create an invisible field emanating in a 180-degree arc from both the front and back of the machine that allows forklifts to pass but automatically stops the wrapping machine if a worker enters the field. The scanners are set within the bumper guards, which protect the stretch wrapper from
accidental contact with lift trucks.
Available on TAB Wrapper Tornado Smart Controls models with the standard 80-inch, 100-inch, and 115-inch wrapping rings, the Upgraded Safety Control Package accommodates 480V electrical service and may be retrofit onto Smart Controls wrapping machines in the field.

Bundle Splitter Saves Time
Operators can save time and improve safety with Canrack’s custom Bundle Splitter system, which provides efficient sheet order filling without manual lifting, completely scratch free and much faster than traditional methods.
Canrack’s  engineered Bundle Splitter System is modular and scalable to the operator’s needs. High Volume Systems can be configured to suit order volume, number of operators, material  moving equipment, space available and budget. Low volume requirements can range from a simple one-sided system to a few tables. When paired with Canrack’s tank conveyors, a splitter system can move and handle skid types that roller conveyors cannot.
Canrack systems will not only aid employee wellness by reducing heavy lifting, but also enhance material handling flexibility for increased order volume out the door.
