Starrett Introduces New Saw Blades
The L.S. Starrett Co., a global manufacturer of saw blades, precision measuring tools and gauges, metrology systems and more,  has introduced TENNAX-PRO Bi-Metal Band Saw Blades designed to cut challenging tubes, pipes, profiles and structural shapes in both single pieces and bundles. Providing lower noise and vibration as well as improved cutting performance, the blades outlast and outperform competitive blades, making up to 25 percent more cuts per blade, Starrett said.
TENNAX-PRO blades feature high-speed M-42 steel teeth with a new special tooth geometry/ profile that optimizes the tip profile for tube, pipe and other structural cuts, dissipating stress during cutting for greater resistance to wear and tooth breakage. In addition, TENNAX-PRO band saw blades are designed with an exclusive tooth-setting process which minimizes pinching when cutting structural and bundled materials.
TENNAX-PRO blades are ideal for cutting a range of materials including carbon steel, carbon steel alloys, stainless steel and nonferrous materials. In addition to pipes, tubes, structural and bundled materials, applications include small solids.

Morse Revamps Blade Lineup
Morse has launched a new lineup of reciprocating saw blades.
Effective June 1, the reciprocating saw blade portfolio moved from a name-based convention to an application-based selection.
The Heavy Duty bi-metal line is the value option for price-conscious customers. The Professional Bi-Metal line targets performance-driven customers, while Professional Carbide’s carbide-tipped blades will serve performance-driven
customers with hard-to-cut applications. The Specialty line features multiple application-specific blades with alternative cutting edges – carbide grit, diamond grit, plaster and pallet options.
The four new categories allow Morse to be easier to do business with. The streamlined program delivers quicker blade selection and less inventory while still cutting the same wide range of materials.
Implementation of the new lineup will be a rolling change as inventory is depleted. Select part numbers will have adjustments, although overall, part numbers will remain unchanged. Discontinued items will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.

KAAST Adds Cold Saw
KAAST Machine Tools, Inc. has added a new semi-automatic cold saw to its extensive line-up of machine tools.
The DC 350 X is a 4.5-inch capacity semi-automatic double-gear wet type circular cut-off saw. This machine is robustly crafted to meet the high demands of industrial settings, ensuring performance and reliability. The solid construction of the cast iron base and high quality components used in the DC 350 X contribute to its durability. The swiveling head of this chop saw allows for 90-degree or 45-degree cutting with ease.
One of the standout features of the DC 350 X is its powerful 2.5- to 3-HP motor coupled with a double gear transmission system. This combination allows the machine to deliver exceptional cutting performance, KAAST said. It maintains smooth and consistent operation even under heavy loads. The double gear mechanism enhances the machine’s efficiency, enabling it to handle tough materials with ease.
The wet cutting system of the DC 350 X significantly reduces heat generation during the cutting process. By minimizing heat, the machine helps to extend the life of the cutting blade.

KASTO Solves Capacity Question
Metal distributor Langley Alloys was looking for more efficient sawing technology. The result: new band saws by KASTO, with which the British company can use to process hard-to-cut metals.
Langley Alloys’ saw fleet reached its limits after 10 years and an expansion of capacity was not possible with the existing machines. In addition, the lack of space in the production hall prevented the acquisition of further band saws.
The solution  was the KASTOtec AC 4, KASTOwin pro A 4.6 and the KASTOwin pro AC 5.6 to process difficult-to-cut metals. Langley Alloys was able to significantly increase the cutting capacity and precision– without complex monitoring. Thanks to the improved CNC control of the KASTO machines, the employees can set up the different sawing jobs faster, utilizing the machines to correctly set the speed and feed for each job, not having to rely on the operator’s knowledge – this opens up a greater potential for operator selection. The KASTO saws handle all sawing jobs at Langley Alloys with very little downtime.
